In a commitment to more climate protection and to achieving the Paris climate goals, ROGESA has installed a coke-oven gas injection system for its two blast furnaces.

Containing more than 55 per cent hydrogen, coke-oven gas reduces the use of carbon in iron-ore reduction. This will greatly reduce the CO2 footprint of ROGESA, Dillinger and Saarstahl, who view the use of this technology as a pioneering step towards future, hydrogen-based iron production.

With years of experience in the purification of coke oven gas and cokemaking technology, DMT was commissioned for a new HD coke-oven gas scrubber that will clean the coke-oven gas for injection into the blast furnaces. It is scheduled to begin operation in April.
