Leading the investigation are DMT’s exploration geologists Thumbha Chabalala from our South African branch and EurGeol. Dr. Hartwig Gielisch from DMT in Germany, who has long-term experience researching and helping to combat coal fires.
The team is expected to finish the investigation and present their extinguishing strategy to the colliery management and the Government in March.
