The tracks and ballast in the Hoffnungsthal Tunnel, Germany, a rail tunnel of Deutsche Bahn, are currently being completely renewed. The work entails intensive dust creation and contamination of the working atmosphere with hazardous substances from diesel engines, such as carbon monoxide or nitrogen oxides. To ensure it is safe to work in the tunnel in spite of these adverse conditions, DMT was commissioned by KAF Falkenhahn Bau AG to ensure safe working conditions by supplying fresh air and monitoring the concentrations of hazardous substances.
Various DMT skills come together here: we develop ventilation and measuring concepts, and set up tunnel ventilation and measuring technology. We operate and monitor the ventilation system via the SAFEGUARD monitoring platform, conduct measurements of hazardous substances, provide safety officers, take care of documentation and are available to the client around the clock.
